Abstract
The present  research seeks to pinpoint the deficiencies of compiling and writing textbooks, and also provide the needed standards for writing printed and electronic books in Payame Noor University. To achieve the said objectives, printed and electronic textbooks were studied and the problems regarding the principles of compiling and writing books have been recognized.
The research is of practical ones and from methodological point of view, is an analytic- survey. The statistical society includes 589 published books, and also 20000 university students of Mashhad Payame Noor University Providing the needed data was possible through two methods. In the first step, all the books were listed and were taken into consideration from the compiling and writing points of view. In the second step, the comments of the students, related to the research subject, were extracted from the provided questionnaires. Findings of the research indicate that the procedure of writing and compiling Payame Noor university books doesn’t conform to the recognized and identical principles of writing and compiling books. As an average, 38/6 percent of the students have evaluated the textbooks as efficient .Usefulness of multiple choice tests and the other questions at the end of each chapter have been evaluated useful by 47/3 percent of the students.
