Abstract

Purpose:The aim of this research was to study the relationship between library anxiety and being introvert and extrovert among the students of humanities at QomPayam Noor University.
Methodology: The research methodology used was causal-comparative and an accidental sample of 344 was selected from the whole population (3297 students). The instruments included the Bastic Anxiety Library Test and Isenberg Personality Test. To analyze the data, an independent samples t-test and chi-s and ANOVA were used.
Findings: According to the dispersion of anxiety range of the students, standard deviation calculated as 9/10; and also minimum and maximum library anxiety range of the research population calculated as %28.06 and %66.38.
Results: The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the library anxiety and personality types in that the library anxiety of extroverts is lower than that of theintrovert. The present work is significant in the sense that it used a novel method to study the relationship between library anxiety and personality type.
