Abstract

Purpose: In present century, giving services with high quality is a big challenge in service organizations. Libraries and information centers especially, public libraries because of its function and nature, also are not in exception. The purpose of the present study is to assess service quality of Holy Shrine Ahmadi and Mohammadi Shahcheragh library using LibQual model.
Methodology: In a survey research and the data was collected by using LibQual questionnaire. Research  statistical population included all holy shrine Ahmadi & Mohammadi library active users in 2013(1887 ones). That was a classified(percentage) sampling method and Sample size by using Morgan table was 319, that 262 ones (82 percent) were back. Cronbach alpha coefficient (0.92) verified reliability of scale. Data were analyzed by descriptive and deductive statistics including Paired Sample t-test, Independent Sample t-test , One Way ANOVA.
Results: Adequacy and superiority gap of service quality in all dimensions of LibQual model (Affect of Service , Information Control, Library as a Place) was negative.
Result: The library was not able to  meet the minimum and desired levels of service quality in any LibQual dimensions.
