Abstract
Purpose: This paper studies the personal information management (gathering, storing, organization and retrieval) among faculty members of PNU.
Methodology: The study population was composed of faculty members of PNU KhorasanRzavi. There were 207 faculty member in KhorasanRazavi. Questioner was sent for all faculty members by email. 81 person applied it.Data was gathered during 1month. Data analysis has been done by SPSS 16. Data was analyzed by descriptive statics and correlation Cramer.
Findings: Findings of this paper show that although faculty members are familiar with gathering, organizing, storing, and retrieving information and have been successful in these areas but they are not familiar whit new tools in information management.
Result: It is necessary for faculty members to be familiar with new tools of information management like End Note until they can work more powerful than the past. Findings show that faculty members know about information management but they need to use new tools in this area. Presentation of educational course and educational workshops can cause better operation of faculty members in personal information management.
