Abstract

Purpose: Over the past decade, resulting in enhancements to the information and communication technology, the revolutionary changes that occurred in the library environment, resulting in new roles for library and information professionals, demands.The goal of our study was to compare the university's libraries and librarians are familiar with information technology skills Anjamgrfth is Norway.
Methodology: In this study, a comparative survey is to gather information and assess the application and librarians' views of the questionnaire was used.
Finds: IT has affected the role of library and information professionals, and opportunities for personal andprofessional improvement has created for them. Unlike the librarians at the University of Oslo that formal education is the most important way to recognize information technology skills Tehran University librarians have the most important method of self-study and informal learning. Library groups responsible for librarian education is necessary to review the methods and practices of training and Educational content with the current needs of the society and development of ICT in their matches. Tehran University librarians to learn the most important barriers to progress and familiarity with information technology skills to high-ranking officials to send their lack of interest to learn IT skills to know and this requires separated research and study why it is paid.
Results: The results show that librarians working at the University of Oslo, with a mean (2/92) and 003/0 more meaningful level of librarians working at Tehran University are familiar with information technology skills. Also, men with a mean (90) and 0.000 significance level of familiarity with information technology skills, in both universities (Oslo and Tehran) responsive to women was higher than the underprivileged.
