Abstract

Purpose: Considering the effect of the presence of scientific products in scientific-citation databases and social networks on the scientometric indicators of databases, this study investigates the effect of Dimensional and Mendelian database meta-metrics on the number of citations received in The Scopus base is covered.
Methodology:  The present study is of a fundamental type that has been done in a descriptive manner with a metamorphic approach. The statistical population of this research includes 284 documents produced by Iranian authors in the field of semantics, which are indexed in the Scopus database in the period of 2021-1960. In order to investigate the effect of metamorphic indices and scores obtained from the presence of semantic web products in Dimensions and Mendelian databases on the index of number of citations in Scopus database, correlation tests and multiple linear regression using Excel and SPSS software.
Findings: Iranian writers in the field of semantics use Mendel in 95.5% of cases. Nevertheless in only 24 cases (8.5%) do they use social networks to share content? Apart from the ratio of relative citations, other dimensional indicators have an acceptable correlation with the number of Scopus citations. The relationship between the number of Dimensions citations and the number of Scopus citations is stronger than the relationship between other indicators. There is also a high correlation between the number of readers and the number of Mendelian citations with Scopus citations. Examination of regression model coefficients showed that the number of citations received by Daischmans to Miran is 10% and the number of Mendelian citations is 83% of the predictive power of Scopus citations. Other studied indicators are incapable of predicting the number of Scopus citations.
Conclusion: Iranian writers in the field of semantic web should use social networks such as Twitter to share their content as much as possible. Also, in order to receive more citations, publish their content in journals with international indexes.
