Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this article is to investigate the effects of spiritual therapy on mental well-being and usage of coping strategies among the students of information and knowledge science.
Methodology: Thirty two Knowledge and Information Science female senior students from Qom Payame Noor University in Iran were selected as subjects by voluntary sampling method. The sample was divided into two equal control and experimental groups.  Then, for experimental group, 8 sessions were carried out spirituality based on Quran.
Findings: The results –ANCOVA- showed that after treatment, mental well-being has been increased in experimental group in comparison with control group. Furthermore, in experimental group, escape-avoidance as a mainly dysfunctional coping way has been decreased and seeking social support and positive reappraisal had increased just as research hypotheses had predicted.
Conclusion: After complementary studies, we can conclude that spiritual therapy could have its beneficial effects on mental well-being by decreasing dysfunctional coping ways.
