Abstract
Purpose: Current study aims to investigate the relationship between time management and managerial skills of government-sponsored university libraries managers in Isfahan municipality.
Methodology: This research was conducted by descriptive-correlative study. The population included all managers and librarians employed in government-sponsored university libraries in Isfahan. Two standard questionnaires were used as data collection tool with an acceptable reliability (0.81and 0.85).
Findings: The results indicated that the rate of managerial skills was higher than average in three dimensions (technical skills=3.32; conceptual skills=3.53; and human skills=3.44). The overall rate of the managers’ managerial skills was higher than average too. “Education” had the most effect on time management (=0.23) but the other variables had no any significant correlation with it. Also there was not any significant difference between time management and two dimensions of managerial skills (technical and human but with conceptual skills.
Conclusion: According to the results and the importance of the management in library productivity and efficiency, time management can be used in Isfahan university libraries to improve their productivity and efficiency.
