Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the digital divide between postgraduate students of Iran university of medical sciences in terms of use, accessibility and IT skills.
Methodology: This research is applied in terms of purpose and is descriptive in nature. The statistical population of the study consisted of all postgraduate students of Iran university of medical sciences in the first term of the academic 2018-2019year's, that number was 2584 graduate student. The sample of the present study was estimated using to stage stratified method, was 161 student's. The standard questionnaire was used for data collection. Informal validity was used to determine the validity of the research instrument. The reliability of the research instrument using Cronbach Alpha coefficient, that was equal./85. SPSS software was used for data analysis.
Findings: The finding showed that there is a digital gap among the postgraduate students in the three indices of use, access and IT skills, all with equal /001 significance level. The results also showed that the digital gab between students was significant in terms of age, education degree, and housing status.
Conclusion: It can be concluded from the research findings that the digital gab status of postgraduate students of medical sciences of Iran is at an average level. Therefore, it is suggested that the Iranian university of medical sciences be equipped with new information technologies and tools for students.
