Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between job burnout and communication skills in librarians of institutional and participatory public libraries in Kashan.
Methodology: This study is conducted by analytical survey method. Data gathering tools are two questionnaires of Queen Dam communication skills and Maslach job burnout. The statistical population of this study have been librarians of institutional and participatory public libraries in Kashan city which have been studied by a total of 40 (total librarians). The validity of the questionnaire with kmo is 903 and its reliability with Cronbach's alpha is 845. Data analysis has been done by SPSS software at two levels of descriptive statistics (calculation of tables and abilities, as well as calculation of validity and reliability of the questionnaire) and inferential and explanatory statistics (using Pearson correlation test to determine the correlation between Independent and dependent variables).
Findings: Based on the findings of this research, librarians of public libraries of Kashan have a moderate communication skills. The results of the analysis of the findings show that, in comparing the demographic characteristics of librarians to the subscales of job burnout, there is only a meaningful relationship between the elements of personality and gender and the components of the lack of individual success and work experience with sig = .005. Also, in comparing the subscales of job burnout to the communication skills, there is a confirmed and meaningful relationship between all the components of communication skills with the lack of success component, as well as between the component of emotional control and de-personality.
Conclusion: The results indicates that the communication skills of the sample was moderate. The results show that among the subscales of job burnout, there is a significant relationship between the components of personalization and gender, and the components of lack of individual success and work experience. Also, there is a significant relationship between the subscales of burnout with communication skills, between the communication skills components with the lack of success component, and between the emotional control and personality deprivation components.
