Abstract
Purpose: the purpose of the present paper is to study and compare the reviewers’ lists of two journals in knowledge and information science, and answer some questions concerning these reviewers and their fields.
Research methodology: research methodology is survey of literary criticism. The literature reviewed is websites of “Library and Information Science” and “National Studies on Librarianship and Information Organization” journals.
Findings: findings illustrated that the number of reviewers and in some cases their fields in two journals are different, similar fields for similar reviewers are sometimes differently stated, and 47% of reviewers are common in the journals studied.
Conclusion: considering the situation governing the reviewers in both journals, allocating reviewers for papers sent to these journals is sometimes quite difficult for people who are supposed to allocate reviewers, for which some suggestions have been presented to improve the situation.
