Objective: The main objective of the study is to investigate the relationship between digital information synthesis and assessment skills and job efficiency of librarians in public libraries in Qom.
Method: The present study is applied in terms of purpose and was conducted using a survey method. The research population is 112 librarians in public libraries in Qom, and the sample size was determined using the Cochran sample size formula of 86 people, and the sample members were selected using simple random sampling. Research data were collected using two questionnaires: digital information synthesis and assessment skills and a job efficiency questionnaire, and were analyzed using SPSS 26 software.
Findings: The research findings showed that librarians in public libraries in Qom have low digital information synthesis and assessment skills, but are in a favorable situation in terms of job efficiency. There is a significant and direct relationship between digital information synthesis and assessment skills and job performance. There is also a significant difference between the level of digital information synthesis and assessment skills of librarians based on their educational qualifications and service experience. However, there is no significant difference between the level of job performance of librarians in public libraries in Qom and their service experience. Conclusion: The results of this study can inform the officials of the Qom public libraries about the status of digital information synthesis and assessment skills and librarians' job performance so that, by using the results of the study, they can plan and make better decisions to improve digital information synthesis and assessment skills in librarians and their job performance.
