[English]

The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the historical origins of the field of plagiarism using two new scientometric methods RPYS and RPYS-CO.This research is of the applied scientometric type in terms of its purpose and descriptive in terms of data collection. The statistical population of this research consists of all types of articles and books in the citation database of Clarivat Analytics (Web of Science) in the field of plagiarism, including 4637 sources that were published between 1950 and 2023. Data was analyzed in CREXPLORER software. The results of the analysis led to the identification of 8 mutations that occurred in this subject area, which occurred respectively in the years 1964, 1981, 1990, 1995, 1999, 2006, 2013 and 2016. An important and influential work in this field was identified which belongs to the article of Rebecca Moore Howard (1995) entitled "Scientific plagiarism, authorship and academic death penalty". After determining this article as an influential work, it was also examined in terms of co-citation index and the most important co-citation works were identified and introduced with it.
